Over the years, we have engaged in countless hours of dialogue, conversing weekly via phone and Discord, and sometimes even daily for hours on end. While we may occasionally find ourselves at odds, our communication transcends such differences, always making room for each other's perspectives. For over five years, we have dedicated ourselves to developing the storyline, shaping the characters, and refining the lore, but it was in the midst of 2022 that we began channeling all our efforts into Embertale. Our primary objective has been to infuse the characters with vitality through captivating graphics and create an interactive information platform that provides unparalleled insights into the essence of Embertale. In mid-2022, we made the strategic decision to establish our own business and have since aligned our work processes and ideation.

Vi har altid haft et fællesmindset, og trods at vi er brødre har vi aldrig i vores liv oplevet et eneste skænderi, trods at vi kan være uenige så er vores kommunikation på et plan som gør vi altid giver plads til hinanden, hvilket gør os som noget helt unikt som team. I midten af 2022 valgte vi at etablere virksomhed som partnere, og har siden da synkroniseret vores arbejde såvel som vores tanker. Vi har arbejdet på historien, karaktererne og generelt alt i over 5 år, men i midten af 2022 begyndte vi at lægge alt vores fokus på Embertale. Dette har været at give karaktererne liv gennem grafik, og skabe denne interaktive informationsside som uddybber hvad Embertale er på en helt unik måde. Vores mål er at skabe en helt unik fantasy verden alle kan fordybe sig i og forsvinde hen i, og som alle kan relatere til.

Since childhood, we have shared a passion for fantasy worlds. Marcin has always been a gaming enthusiast, while Thomas has found enjoyment in both digital gaming and engaging in entertaining and creative D&D sessions with his group. We've always approached almost everything with the mindset of "Wouldn't it be cool if...?" We would then spend hours discussing ideas, providing our own input on how we would do things if it were our own world. It was during these conversations that the concept of Embertale began to take shape, as we believed that others could benefit from the multitude of ideas we had.

A few years ago, we started contemplating what our ideal world would look like if we were to create it ourselves. We wanted to create a world where the lines between good and evil were blurred, making it more intriguing. The reality is that no one sees themselves as a villain in their own story. As the saying goes, there are always two sides to a story. It was with this understanding that we began crafting the story of Embertale and designing its world.

Additionally, we placed great emphasis on ensuring that everything within the world made sense. We began discussing and documenting, ensuring that each aspect had a logical foundation. We would then revisit these discussions periodically, seeking new perspectives and confirming that everything still made sense. This iterative process has continued for years, bringing us to the point we are at now, where we felt it was time to make the world of Embertale accessible to the public.

Vi har siden barndommen spillet spil sammen. Marcin har altid været en nørd indenfor digital gaming, og Thomas har haft sin passion i digital gaming såvel som at mødes med sin gruppe til underholdende og kreative D&D sessioner. Når vi har spillet har vi altid haft en indgangsvinkel som "Det kunne være fedt hvis..", og herefter brugt timevis på at snakke om idéer med vores egne inputs til hvordan vi ville gøre det, hvis det var vores eget. Der var her at idéen til Embertale opstod, nemlig fordi vi har så mange inputs som vi mener at andre også ville kunne få glæde af. For et par år tilbage begyndte vi at snakke om hvad den idéelle verden ville være, hvis vi selv skulle skabe den. Hvor der ikke var godt og ondt, men derimod en blurred linje imellem, som gjorde det mere spændende. Som man siger, der er altid 2 sider af en historie. Dette Mørkt mod Lyst koncept, som man ser i mange fantasi verdener opdagede vi at vi ikke var fan af. Virkeligheden er, at der ikke er nogen der er skurke i sin egen historie, og det var med dette grundlag at vi begynde at skrive historien om Embertale og designe verdenen. Desuden fokuserede vi meget på at alt skal give mening. Hvofor eksisterer orker? Hvilket social hieraki har dværge? Hvilke farer lever der i verdenen udover de andre kongeriger? Alle disse spørgsmål begyndte vi at snakke om, og skrev alt ned som gav mening. Vi tog det herefter op til diskussion igen efterfølgende, for at se om vi havde fået nye inputs og om det fortsat gav mening, og sådan har vi gjort på repeat i årevis indtil dette punkt vi er på nu, hvor vi mente at det var på tide at dele vores verden med andre.

In addition to our ongoing narrative development, we are also engaged in crafting a game — a base-building browser-based MMO. This exciting endeavor aims to offer endless entertainment while introducing newcomers to the immersive world of Embertale through interactive gameplay. Just as with our storytelling, each building, resource and area in the game serves a purpose and has its own origin story. At present, I would venture to say that we have a fully functional game, but we are committed to refining it to perfection before its public release.
