Boneeater, Guardian of the Pass

To encounter Boneeater is to embark on a test of character. Those who approach his pass with malice in their hearts are met with an unyielding force, pitted against the raw might of nature itself.

Towering above most of his kin, his colossal form is swathed in thick, matted fur, an ashen white that mirrored the glimmering snowdrifts. His muscles ripple with strength and his massive paws are adorned with razor-sharp claws that could rend the sturdiest armor asunder. From the moment he took his first steps, the very earth responded to his presence, trembling beneath his mighty tread. The air around him grows lukewarm and damp from the excess heat escaping from his body.

For the outsiders who seek to traverse his pass, a specific Ceremony is expected to be granted passage.
Before Boneeater, these foreigners must present a series of offerings each, humbly bowing before his immense stature while doing so. Their gifts are traditionally expected to be bundles of soft pelts, hearty meats, and rare herbs, but jewelry, gemstones and gold are also well perceived by the guardian should a stranger carry these more than the other.

With a nod of approval, Boneeater permits the worthy foreigners to pass while a stoic stare is to be assumed disapproval. But assume not disapproval to be a rejection of the gifts and leave them where they lie, for Boneeater can easily assume theft should you wish to take back your gifts again.
