Chosen as heir for calling out when he detected an orc assassin about to strike at the king, proving his vigilance and the eye for detail required for traversing the cutthroat reality of prideblood politics. Detecting an assassin that had somehow evaded the royal guard and snuck his way to the kings chambers, his ability earned him the nickname "Ever Vigilant" by his father.


Despite numerous attempts against his life, Caspirian has survived every time by his abilities to sneak away.
Most famously when he survived a waylaying by highwaymen, Caspirian was presumed kidnapped and killed by the corpses of his escort. When he returned home with his lead bodyguard two weeks later both disguised as a commoners, recounting his tale of how he noticed suspicious characters at the inn they stayed at the day before. Caspirian and his guard presumed that an attack was imminent and decided to walk the long way back on foot as a precaution while ordering the carriage to follow its intended path with the rest of the guards to throw any potential attackers off their track.

Caspirian the Ever Vigilant continues to avoid the blades of his pursuers, but as their identities are unknown they are likely to strike again and again until he slips up one time too many.
