Portrait of Faldin Ironfist
Character

Faldin Ironfist

Ruler of Nivarian Dwarf society, Faldin spends most of his time secluded in the Throneroom Mirrorhalls where he discuss greater plans for the future with his fellow rulers away from the curious minds of outsiders.

Cautious and reserved

Dwarves, as a whole, possess a proclivity towards looking upon outsiders with a deep-rooted sense of distrust and disdain. Yet, for Faldin, this sense of skepticism and wariness is even more pronounced. He had spent years honing his ability to discern the true intentions of those who ventured into his domain. While many sectors of the grand dwarven cities were open to trusted outsiders, Faldin's palace stands as a stark exception. No outsider had ever been granted the privilege of entering his regal abode during his reign.

Steward of the Mirrorhalls

Originally, Faldin had been chosen to be a candidate to become the portalmaster of the realm for his affinity for understanding the intricacies of these arcane gateways, ultimately leading to his selection as the Steward instead. His insights into the interactions between the dwarves and outsiders proved invaluable. Faldin possesses a keen understanding of the delicate balance that needed to be maintained. He is acutely aware of the potential consequences that unchecked portal usage could bring by giving in to the demands of the struggling locals, who yearn for resources beyond the confines of their set quotas.

With the mantle of Steward bestowed upon him, Faldin Ironfist assumed a weighty responsibility that went beyond the mere governance of portal usage. He became the guardian of the dwarven society's values, a steadfast bastion against the temptations of greed and recklessness. Faldin's role necessitated a cautious and measured approach, for he understood that the actions taken within the Mirrorhalls would reverberate throughout the entire realm.

Secluded ruler of teh realm

Within his isolated palace, Faldin worked tirelessly to ensure that the portals were used responsibly and with the utmost care. His mind dedicated to the concerns of the complex interplay of races, resources and the order of the realm. He studied the needs and aspirations of the struggling locals, striving to strike a balance between their desires and the limitations imposed by the frozen plane. Faldin's decisions were never swayed by the plights of the outside world; rather, they were rooted in the preservation of his people's way of life and the continued thriving of Nivaria.

Though his reign was marked by isolation, Faldin Ironfist's influence resonated far beyond the walls of his palace. His commands and directives inspire respect and admiration among his subjects. Dwarven artisans, miners, and scholars alike look to him as the epitome of their society's strength and wisdom and commonly dedicate part of their works to his person.
Nivaria, A celestial wonderland of captivating allure, adorned with an undulating expanse of glistening ice. Towering peaks and majestic glaciers carve intricate patterns on the frozen canvas. Inhabitants, resilient and connected to the ice, craft gravity-defying structures.
