Though the construction of this structure was in the time between the splitting of the realms and the reopening of the portal, it was as if these stones had been brought from a distant and unknown source.

If there was a chance that this civilization had access to portals of their own was a possibility with terrifying implications, and it was deemed priority that the empty ruins be carefully explored.
