Haldrik Boulderbreaker

Assigned dwarven overseer of the Xalendra expedition. Haldriks duty is to ensure that the actions of the expedition does in no way threaten the dwarven settlement near which they are stationed.

Haldrik, part of the dwarven mining crew that unearthed the ruins and well-versed in the geology of the region, had spent years studying the various rock formations and mineral deposits that characterized the dwarven settlement's vicinity. The composition of the local rocks was deeply ingrained in his knowledge, making the discovery all the more surprising. Though the construction of this structure was in the time between the splitting of the realms and the reopening of the portal, it was as if these stones had been brought from a distant and unknown source.

The existence of any such foreign rock formations suggested that the ancient civilization that built Xalendra had access to resources beyond the local lands. Questions arose about the origins of the civilization and the means by which they transported these rocks to the site. If there was a chance that this civilization had access to portals of their own was a possibility with terrifying implications, and it was deemed priority that the empty ruins be carefully explored.

Then made the overseer of the expedition called to explore the ruins, Haldrik's primary responsibility is to safeguard the interests and well-being of the dwarven settlement throughout the expedition's activities. His role includes liaising between the expedition team and the dwarven community, ensuring that the excavation and research activities do not pose any threats to the settlement's structural integrity or cultural heritage.

Haldrik's interactions with the expedition members are characterized by a firm but fair approach. Despite his initial reservations about outsiders encroaching upon the sacred lands of his people, Haldrik recognizes the importance of the expedition's work.
He maintains a watchful eye, ensuring that all protocols and agreements are followed, and that the dwarven settlement's interests are protected. He serves as a knowledgeable guide, offering insights into dwarven lore and sharing tales of the settlement's past, fostering a mutual understanding between the expedition and the dwarven community.
