Leopolantes

Old King Leopolantes, locked up in the tower of the palace where his ravings can occationally be heard through the night.


King Leopolantes reign was known to be one of passive rule and allowing the nobles to serve themselves uncontested. endulging himself with the luxuries of his position, he cared little for the affairs of the realms outside.
Favored by the powerful noble families that knew that they could simply gift him with luxurious food, wine and gifts and he would occupy himself while letting them do as they pleased unobstructed.
Known for signing many laws restricting the power of the crown for favors, the cohesion of the prideblood lands fractured near irreparably under his lack of oversight.


While Leopolantes had made a lot of indirect enemies, he was protected by the powerful nobles that oversaw that his estate was a gilded cage that they were in control of. It is believed therefore that the assassination attempt came from within the walls of the palace by one close to him.

Engorging himself on another feast, the poison that destroyed the kings mind could have been within any of the wines or meats gifted to him. frothing one the floor and foaming at the mouth, he managed to survive the attempt at his life but it shattered his mind beyond repair. Going from blankly staring into nothingness in his own filth to angrily tantrumming attacking everything surrounding him, the king was no longer fit to sit on the throne.

With no heir declared after the death of his previous favored heir, the throne was inherited by his eldest son Aricadon

Kept alive and cared for, his tantrums have meant that he has been isolated in the furthest recess of the palace. Chained up to prevent destruction or him jumping out of the tower, Leopolantes is a prisoner in his own home as well as his own mind.
