Seeking their fortunes across the realms far corners, the ferigris are a people well equiped for life in Virentia through the mountains, treetops and plains. Though not many in numbers, their sudden acquirement of abundant wealth is expected to cause their birthrate to rocket and make the ferigris the uncontested dominant force on Virentia within a few generations.
Before the portals opened, the ferigris lived in the skies undisturbed along with the canopith elders. But as the commerce of ember was made possible with the commerce through the portal, the ferigris seized the opportunity to acquire the wealth which they now enjoy.
Disturbing the peace with the dragonkin that saw the ember caught in the tree tops as theirs by right, a period of violence broke out across the skies only broken when the orcs seized the opportunity to attack the dragonkin and loot their ember hoards.
Now uncontested, the ferigris economy enjoy the fruits of near monopoly and seek to enjoy it for as long as they are able.
With a natural fondness for all that shimmers and shines, the ferigris culture has always been known by their fascination with colors and patterns. Their social stratification visible by the complexity of the designs that they dye with all the colors of a rainbow sometimes changing its hue depending on the intensity of the sunbeams shining through dyes of their fabric and feathers.
Armed with their spears and flying with precision, the ferigris guardsmen are known for their visible display of power as well as the protection they provide for the tree top cities that they guard as well as the travelling balloons that hire them for protection through the skies where their vibrant hue adds color and splendor to the already luxurious interiors or the cargo balloons that carry goods across the plane both threatened by ferigris sky pirates.
With their capacity for travel, ferigris scouts and outposts are common throughout the realm. However they avoid the undergrowth of the thickening woods, because they are more so exposed to the dangers of the wild than most other landgoing species when deprived of their natural strength as they can't fly freely through the woods where the roots and branches are unpredictable and hostile to outsiders.
