In the depths of the cold waters of Nivaria are a species of intelligent creatures that doesn't seem sociable to any interactions with the .
The best way of getting into close contact with a Chelon is to visit the Floating Dragon Bazaars, wondering the streets in packs, the Chelonics on these floating platforms seem quite at ease with outsiders compared to their terrestrian counterparts.
If this is due to a perceived protection or if there is some other kind of reasoning for them avoiding contact so rapidly isn't well known as the language barrier between scholars and these folks have not been helpful despite multiple attempts.

Attempts to communicate with the creatures doesn't seem feasable for the scholars of the realms as they lack the ability to vocalize and have no written system, communicating instead through non-verbal gestures and writting through a cryptic method of sorting colored rocks sorted in mosaic patterns.
"The Chelonics are a strange kind. Though their communication seem simple, it carries a lot of meaning. Once, one the floating Dragon Bazaar, I attempted to mimic their written language according to those found in the wild and show them to a group in the hopes that they could point me towards their literal meaning. The first sortment I showed just caused a look of bewilderment, the second caused a snicker from all but the one I questioned looking angry and the third caused my to get thrown off the bazaar."
